Those round things... aka wedding bands

A friend of mine who has the blog I love you much had tweeted (status updated) about rings today looking to find a way to find the one she wants cheaper.  We've experienced the same issue.  See...  I'm set on getting our wedding bands from Tiffany's too.  Why?  Well long story short Josh and I have this "breakfast at Tiffany's" connection (I'll mention some other time).  And a while back, we thought it would be all so cute to get Tiffany's rings to remind us of the time we started dating after long last.  The thing is...  we would want to get platinum rings.  Now I don't need diamonds in the ring as I'm more of a simple person.  Plus I don't need anything that might shred my lab gloves (Extreme safety hazard when working with HIV + blood).  But I did like the LucidaBezet and Novo Band styles.  That was until I saw the prices that were all near or over $1000 for each band.  On our rather tight budget that can't happen.  So we came up with this alternative.  For the time being, we would get simpler and cheaper bands.  We would get one of their simple silver bands that run around $100 and use those as our wedding rings.  Then when we get the money to get fancier bands 5-10yrs down the road, pick those up.  Unless we are just content with our simple silver bands such as these Frank Gehry ones [ Torque Wide and Narrow ].  =)

I just love you....

So while most might overlook the title of this blog, it has meaning... While Josh and I were dating he sent me an email entitled "I just love your ramblings". But gmail and the tabs in my browser cut the text down to "I just love you".  As it was before the L word was said, I was unsure if I should mention to Josh what my computer did.  So I snapped a screen shot and sent it to him.  It made him smile just as much as it did me.

Hmm... Needs, Wants and random cute things!

Last night we went to Ross Park mall and worked on the gift registries. I and my little sister Meg were so excited for the price guns. Josh of course laughed at us and continued to laugh until he got one in his hand. He became a price gun junkie and growled at me when I went to take it back. It quite humorous! Now back to the registries themselves. While we'd love to just ask for cold hard CASH, we understand the desire of people to buy gifts. We were finding that it was hard to go through and choose things as we have many pots, pans, dishes and housewares collected over the years that are still in good condition. Getting just for the sake of getting seemed to be glutenous even though we would donate all our old times to goodwill, the disabled vets or even the animal vets (shelters and vets take old linens to line cages). But then my sister mentioned that she would take all our college hand-me downs and that opened a new and exciting world of housewares! Below are the places we are registered along with some other helpful gift buying ideas. We are still in the process of going through and figuring out what we can use in the house, so these will grow in the coming months. Also as certain items come and go due to seasonal changes, we will also end up adding to the list to replace what might become unavailable.

~ In store or online...

www.JCPenney.com (always has something on sale)

www.Macys.com (has huge linen sales a couple times a yr... now until the end of feb, usually in the fall around august and who knows how many between.)

www.Target.com (It's target...need I say more... =/ )

~ Also as we buy prescription cat food due to Squeakers (our kitty who has idiopathic cystitis), gift certificates to Northern Pike Veterinarian Hospital are always welcome.

~ Grocery store Gift cards ( We love Wholley's in the strip district and find ourselves at the local Shop'N'Save)

~ Monitary gifts will be going to our "future" house nest egg and to pay off wedding loans.

Welcome!!! =)

Hi Everyone! From this point on, I will try to keep this blog up to date with all things wedding. That will include things such as the registries, where to stay for you out-of-towners and progress of directly wedding things (locations, making of the invites, flowers, rings, showers, etc). At this moment it seems like there is more on our plate than time to accomplish in the next 6 months... yikes! But as long as we keep checking items off the Wedding To-Do list, we should be fine. =)
